GENERAL QUESTIONS

Q: When are you open this year?

Q: How long have you been open?

A: 2018 will be our 35th consecutive year open at the same location

 

Q: What’s the cost?

A: $17 per person. There are coupons available for the first two weeks of the season.

 

Q: Are there any discounted tickets?

A: We have $4 off coupons for the first two weeks of the season. Coupons can be found at most Halloween shops and some Casey’s General Store locations around the Des Moines metro area. If you have problems finding coupons, the Casey’s at Beaver and Douglas should always have some available.  Click here to go to our coupon page to print off your own coupon.

 

Q: Can I use a coupon on my phone?

A: No. All coupons must be presented in physical form. No digital coupons will be honored.

 

Q: When can I use my coupon?

A: Coupons are valid for the first two weeks of the season, only. Those dates are: Sept 28th, Sept 29th, Oct 5th, and Oct 6th

 

Q: Can I use multiple coupons for the same entry?

A: Each entrant can use 1 coupon per person, per entry.

 

Q: Where is the entrance to the Haunted House?

A: You enter the haunted house in the alley behind the store.

 

Q: I couldn’t make it all the way through the haunted house, can I get a refund?

A: No.  Once you have entered the Haunted House, no refunds will be given for any reason.

 

Q: Can I bring my purse/bag or backpack through the haunted house?

A: No backpacks or large purses will be allowed in the haunted house.

 

Q: How long is the wait in line?

A: It depends on many factors including which day it is and the weather. Most weeknights you can find a shorter line, as well as earlier in the evenings. Expect longer lines on weekends and closer to Halloween.

 

Q: Is the waiting area inside?

A: The line starts forming at the entrance shed and will run along the parking lot but there is no inside waiting area.

 

Q: How long does it take to go through the haunted house?

A: It depends on how fast you move and what detours you might get taken on. It takes approximately 20-25 minutes.

 

Q: Where can I park?

A: You can park in the East parking lot or along the streets in the neighborhood.

 

Q: Is there a fee for parking?

A: No.

 

Q: Is there security?

A: There are always armed police officers or security present while the haunted house is operating and there are security cameras placed throughout the haunted house for everyone’s safety.

 

Q: Can we take photos and/or videos inside the haunted house?

A: No. Anyone caught taking photos or videos will have their device removed from their person and returned to the owner at the end of the haunted house.

 

Q: Will the actors touch us, or can we touch the actors?

A: Actors are not allowed to touch any visitors to the haunted house and as such, no visitors are allowed to touch any of the actors. If you touch the actors, you will be asked to leave and no refund will be given.

 

Q: If I enter the haunted house and get too scared, what do I do?

A: If you get too scared, find the nearest actor and request to be removed from the haunted house. They will escort you to the nearest exit.

 

Q: Can I use a flashlight or my cell phone for light inside the haunted house?

A: No. We have a strict policy against the use of any outside lighting being used. If caught using a light aid, you will be asked to leave or have the device taken from you and returned to you at the end of the haunted house.

 

Q: Is there an age limit for the haunted house?

A: No. There is no age limit. Anyone 12 and under is required to be accompanied by someone 18 years or older. There are sections of pitch black hallways and jump scare tactics utilized. You know your child’s scare level better than we do.

 

Q: How many people can enter the haunted house at the same time?

A: For the best effects, we recommend groups of 2, 3, or 4 people at one time.

 

Q: Can I wear a costume?

A: Yes, you can wear costumes to the haunted house but we do not allow masks or props to be taken in with you.

 

Q: Are you open if it’s raining?

A: We are open rain or shine.

 

Q: What should I wear to the haunted house?

A: Please pay attention to the weather and dress accordingly. Most of the wait is outside. Close toed shoes are recommended.

 

Q: Can we be denied access or asked to leave?

A: We reserve the right to refuse admittance to anyone we deem not appropriate for entry. The things we do not allow include: the use of foul language, obscene behavior, weapons of any kind, or anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs, etc.

 

Q: Can pregnant women go through the haunted house?

A: We do not recommend pregnant women to go through the haunted house. We suggest calling your OBGYN and/or Physician to discuss the situation with them.

 

Q: If I have a heart condition, can I go through the haunted house?

A: Jump scare tactics are utilized throughout the haunted house, please consult with your physician to determine if you should go through the haunted house.

 

Q: Are strobe lights used in the haunted house?

A: Yes.

 

Q: Can I bring my dog/service animal?

A: We’re sorry, but due to the nature of the haunted house, we do not allow any animals (service animals included) to enter the haunted house.
